Evangelism—The Way You Were Born To Do It
What we make hard is incredibly natural and as Jesus followers, sometimes we are stellar at working harder, not smarter.
In his book, Sharing Jesus (without freaking out), Alvin L. Reid tackles a question that most Christians are hesitant to ask.
“How do I share Jesus without freaking out?”
Whether you interpret that as asking advice for your freak out moments, or trying to ascertain how to accomplish sharing Jesus without freaking out others, Reid presents the answers for both potential quandaries.
In the Introduction, Reid writes,
“Sharing Jesus is as simple as connecting with others around their passion or their pain. It’s in our everyday conversations that we can help people see that their life matter, that their passion to live comes from God, and the good news of Jesus can rescue them from pain. That’s what this book is all about—unpacking how to share our faith without freaking out.”
Short and to the point, Reid most definitely “unpacks” sharing in 8 chapters, explaining 8 principles.
Simply put, the 145-page resource is easy to read and addresses common fears people have when sharing their faith. I think it would make a great book for group discussion because the last 19 pages is an 8 Week Challenge centered around each principle, providing relevant Scriptures, Questions for Reflection and Application, and Guidelines for Prayer.
I’d recommend it for middle/high school age students through senior adults.
5 stars for being relevant, succinct, practical, and very user friendly.
