The Marvelous Mud House is a great resource for parents who want their children to gain perspective and a sense of gratitude. This story follows a family who struggles with wanting more material things. During a trip to Kenya, the family learns what it means to have enough through their new friends, George and Mama George. George and Mama George live in a hut, they don’t have much, yet they still are grateful.
Ben’s family returns home with a new perspective and a desire to help others. This book was beautifully illustrated, it held the interest of my toddlers, even! I love the character values taught in this book and it gave me a desire to help my children live lives of thankfullness. The best part? This book is based on a true story. This book makes it easy to teach your kids about living life with a knowledge of their blessings. The language in this book is easy to understand and the song woven throughout the book is so sweet.
I think this is a book every parent should add to their bookshelves!
