This is a sweet little devotional on Psalms and Proverbs. Written by different contributors, each day covers a portion of Scripture, with a (very) short devotional based on the reading, and a few lines for response. There is an attached bookmark, and a checklist in the back to keep track of which days you’ve read.
I’m a firm believer in context, Scripture included. The analogy of a love letter may be common, but it’s still true- if you read sections of the letter, with commentary (“devotions”), but never actually read the letter, think of all you’ll miss! This little devotional does seem to cover at least most of the books of Psalms and Proverbs, so while it doesn’t guide you in diving deep into Scripture itself, it can be a tool to point us back to the Author Himself, and I’m thankful to be able to review this book through the B&H Publishing Blogger Review program.
