Designed to serve as a companion product to the Big Picture Bible/Bible storybooks, this activity book is filled with over 200 coloring and 150 activity pages. Each page (or section of pages, if referencing the same Bible passage) include a Bible reference, which make it also useful as a stand-alone resource for family devotions, Sunday School teachers, homeschoolers, etc. The pages are ordered from Genesis to Revelation. I was impressed that there are pages featuring the minor prophets, which are often overlooked, but disappointed that there are three pages for Psalms/Proverbs/Ecclesiastes and only one page for the entire epistles. Verses quoted are from the CSB.
The book is rated for ages 4 to 8. I have a four- and a five year old, and the coloring pages are more detailed than they could color nicely. There is a wide variety in the activity pages–word searches, mazes, dot-to-dots, and color-by-number, just to name a few. While there are a few activity pages my children could do (i.e. finding two matching items in a group of four, or eliminating an item that does not belong in a particular group), many of the activity pages require reading skills. I think a more accurate age overall would be 6-8. I’m stashing it away, because it looks like the kind of thing they will really enjoy more in a year or two.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my review.
