This is a tough review for me to write. I say that because usually when I write a review I want to say how great a book or product really is. I cannot say that about this book. I have always been the type that if a book doesn’t grab me in the first couple of pages or at least the first chapter I have a hard time enjoying it. With this work Dr. Mohler’s foreword was great.
Please understand that I am not trying to knock this book, it may actually be great to some readers, but for me at this time in life it is just not coming together for me. I made it mostly through the first chapter (which was a drudgery). This is not a small book it is the size of a 8.5 x 11 folded in half and is 211 pages in length. I was only able to get through to page 19 because of my lack of interest. Their discussion of the importance of the man preaching is most needed.
I hope to one day revisit this book when I may have more interest in it. I think I may be burned out after finishing seminary and the amount of reading about similar topics. I would recommend this book to aspiring pastors and students of the word. I received a copy of this work in exchange for a fair review.
