I was recently blessed with an opportunity to receive and review a copy of Lifeway’s The Big Picture Interactive: Bible Story Coloring and Activity Book. As a father of small children and a pastor I have to say that I was impressed with the book. The introduction encouraged parents going through the book with children to emphasize that the primary message of the Bible is not to “be good,” like many activity books do, but rather to know and spread the good news of what Jesus did for us. The book logically progresses through the story of Scripture providing activities appropriate for children of various ages from simple mazes and coloring sheets to activities such as more complex word searches and decoding activities. While the book corresponds with Lifeway’s The Big Picture material I did not find the other material necessary for my children to be able to use and enjoy the book. I also think that the book’s 384 pages provide an abundance of material for any child or family.
As stated I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.
