I absolutely love my Spurgeon journal. The lines are well spaced, the organization of the contents are easy, the binding is well done and I love the encouraging quotes at the bottom.
“No man can be a Christian who does not pray.”
I recently had the opportunity to review The Spurgeon Journal by B&H Publishers. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I received no other compensation for reviewing this book.
I chose to review The Spurgeon Journal because of my recent passion for prayer and gratitude journaling. This hardcover journal makes a great presentation with its leather look and feel. The pages are lined and included on the bottom of some pages are quotes from Spurgeon’s early sermons along with the corresponding name and number of the sermon. Also located at the beginning of the book is a customizable table of contents to easily track notes, topics or sermons recorded on the following pages.
As a whole I like this journal and would recommend it for those who enjoy journaling, taking sermon notes and other things of that nature. The only disadvantage I found was that the book does not remain open by itself which may be difficult for things like sermon preparation, although the ribbon bookmark would keep one’s place. Thank you to B&H Publishers for the privilege of reviewing this beautiful journal.
Beautiful binding, adds organization to my journal, love being able to have a spot to clearly put the date and I love the quotes from C.H. Spurgeon.
I love the Charles Spurgeon journal. After reading Steal Away Home I really connected to Charles and his wife Susannah. I have been journaling in it as I have been studying scripture. It inspires me to know Charles and Susannah, also studied scripture and was set free through getting to know Jesus more. I love how it helps me keep my thoughts organized, the quotes at the bottom of the page and allows me to easily record the date I am writing.
This is an absolutely wonderful journal! It has so many extras that I love and it’s perfect for men or women, which is nice.
In the front it has a lined contents page that is numbered to match the pages inside. This is so nice because you can put a table of contents for your journal in the front so you can find what you need at a glance. This would be perfect for writers who document their ideas or for ministers who write their sermon notes out.
The paper quality inside the journal is very nice and thick so you don’t have shadowing on the other side of the page. The paper is a lovely ivory color so it’s easy on the eyes and all pen colors look great and are easy to read.
The best part is the quotes randomly throughout the journal to inspire you. Each and every one was wonderful. I really like this journal and highly recommend it. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
I really like this journal. IT is simple and elegant. The outside of the journal is sturdy and classy. The six a perfect size. It is small enough to fit in a Bible case but also offers enough space to take ample notes. It can be used for a male or a female. Inside the journal there is a place for you to put the names of the notes that you take and what pages they are on for quick reference. Each page has a place for you to put the date at the top so you know when you wrote these notes. This journal can be used for taking notes in church, at home, personal journaling, or a compilation of both. There is ample space on each page to take plenty of notes and plenty of space to write your thoughts as well. What I REALLY love is throughout the journal at the bottom are quotes from sermons that Charles Spurgeon did. For those of you who do not know Spurgeon was a very notorious and popular preacher. Many sermons today are derived from some of the sermons he has done before. The quotes that are used are inspirational and also included are which of Spurgeon’s the quotes are derived from. You can buy one for yourself or you can buy one and gift it to someone else.
I hope that you pick one up to use for yourself or for a friend. If it weren’t for Spurgeon putting his sermons and thoughts down on paper we would not be able to glean the knowledge and insight from them. Writing down your thoughts is therapeutic for you and can be therapeutic for the future as well.
