This book is absolutely phenomenal for children. I highly recommend it!
I was excited as soon as I received the BibleMan Bible Storybook! In our ministry I have about 3 “tough” 3rd-5th Grade boys. This is EXACTLY what they need to get their interest in great Bible Stories. In this book, you will find 25 stories that show when God is involved–it is going to be a SUPER event worth reading about!
The cover has good art work, but I do wish it was not padded. It gives it more a “little kid” feel; however, the art lends it self to an older kid!
215 pages with boldness and interest!
Part children’s Bible and part family devotional with super hero flavor, the Bibleman Bible Storybook is perfect for elementary age boys and girls. Bibleman, Biblegirl, Cypher, and Melody, our super heros, invite them to learn from scripture how to fight against temptation and how to be a hero for Jesus.
Each story begins and ends with children’s story, then concludes with a family challenge to live out the scriptural principal and a memory verse. Each lesson is about 8 pages long so it’s perfect for a family bedtime story or with breakfast in the morning. It has eye catching art work with colorful illustrations to draw in little listeners. Many parents want to share Jesus with their children and to show them how God’s Word is lived out, but don’t feel like they know how to share it in a kid friendly way. This book lays out the scripture, main lesson, activity application and memory verse, making it simple just to pick up and use.
I think this book is well put together, and I recommend it. I’m excited to be able to gift this book to another family. This was received as part of the blogger review program at BH publishing in return for my honest assessment. However, all of the views are mine.
Bibleman Bible Storybook is written by author Mike Nappa and illustrated by Dennis Edwards. The cover of this book is cushioned hardback and the book is perfect for 6-10-year-olds; both boys and girls. There is a cast of characters that lead the child through the book. Bibleman’s goal is to lead children to Christ and his weapon of choice is the Word of God. Biblegirl’s tactics are to develop Bible lessons and oppose villains. Cypher’s goal is to help kids live for Christ and his favorite slush-ez flavor is cantaloupe-bubblegum. Lastly, Melody’s favorite scripture is Colossians 3: 23-25.
What I liked most about the book are the colorful drawings, the BibleTeam Challenges, and the scripture verses placed throughout the book. What I didn’t like about the book is that the drawings for Adam and Eve partially show their nakedness while living in Eden.
The text of this book uses simple, short paragraphs. This organization is sufficient for the stories told. The literary tool used is imagery which is helpful in recalling each story. The cover portrays the story of David and Goliath just before David kills Goliath with his slingshot and one stone. There is a total of 25 stories in this book.
I recommend this storybook to children ages 6-10 and their caretakers.
Disclaimer: “I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own.”
I grew up on Bibleman. Or my brothers did if you want to be technical. I was just a spectator of their videos and cool costumes. 🙂
Bibleman is a hero that I’m excited to introduce to my sons. He’s full of the power of God, he shares great values and he’s pretty cool to top it off. I received a copy of the Bibleman Bible Storybook to review (all opinions are mine!), so I figured this would be a great place to start. The Bibleman Bible Storybook is full of heroic tales of Bible characters like Joseph and Noah. Each story corresponds with a story from the Bibleman headquarters and is used to help a kid who is having a problem. I really liked the real-life applications because it made Scripture really relatable to my sons. There are also discussion questions at the end of each lesson to really drive the point home.
This book features men AND women heroes, so this book is one that boys and girls will like. I felt like it showed my sons that women are strong warriors too, which always makes my heart happy to see women being included in God’s plan. 🙂 The pictures are so bright and vivid that they captured my son’s attention. This is their new favorite devotional book! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid book that doesn’t mince words!
