How Big is Love? by Amy Parker and illustrations by Breezy Brookshire is a wonderfully simple, yet beautiful story for me to read to my son who turns two in October. He is starting to be able to sit a little longer on my lap to listen to me read and has finally stopped chewing on his books!
The reader follows a little hedgehog family as Mama Hedgehog answers Little One’s great question, “How big is love?’
My “little one” discovers that love is bigger than mountains, brighter than the sun, yummier than cookies, stronger than dadda, and bigger than the universe every time I read this book to him.
I am able to share with my son that love grows when we share our love. Love is greater than anything in life because God is greater. The Bible verse shared at the very end of the book is an amazing reminder to my son that nothing is truly greater than love.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV).
What made this verse even more special for me to share with Isaiah is the fact that this verse was highlighted in the Bible dadda gave momma on the day he asked me to marry him. 1 Corinthians 13: 13 is found all throughout our home too because it is really is so special to our love story.
I cannot think of anything greater than sharing the message of big love to little hearts!
