I’d like to thank Lifeway/B&H Publishing Group for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Charles Spurgeon, the “Prince of Preachers,” is one of the most influential preachers in church history. His passion, intensity, eloquence, and gospel-focus make his sermons a treasure for the church even to this day. For this reason, this volume is a true treasure for the church.
This beautiful book includes an introduction, fifty-seven sermons he preached itinerantly and as pastor of Waterbeach Chapel, and an analysis of these sermons by editor and Spurgeon scholar Christian George. It has photos of outlines with his own handwriting, which gives this book a feeling of authenticity.
As an aspiring pastor, this book is invaluable. Spurgeon is a hero of mine, and reading outlines from his own pen is an inspiration to me. This beautiful book is something that I will turn to again and again, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
